Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a technique for skin refinement developed in the late 1990's. Tiny crystals of aluminum oxide are administered to the surface of the skin at a high flow rate and are then gently vacuumed off. This treatment leads to even, controlled shedding of the aged and sun-damaged skin leading to a smoother, more polished look. Patients say that makeup is applied easier and they appear more youthful. Usually a series of 5-8 sessions are performed at 2-3 week intervals to achieve maximum results. Most patients continue to have maintenance enhancement sessions every 4-6 weeks.

Is there any recovery time associated with microcrystal facial?

Are aluminum oxide crystals harmful?
No. These crystals are innate and cannot cause an allergy. Also due to the size of the particles, inhalation is not harmful.
