A local anesthetic may first be used and then the Erbium or Ultrapulse CO2 laser miraculously vaporizes the unwanted mole. The treated area is blended into the surrounding skin with the use of laser light. Depending on the appearance of the mole, a sample may be sent out for pathological review. The treated area heals in 7-10 days. No "track marks" are left from stitches, and in most cases, no visual or textural changes are seen.
