Laser Liposculpture
Laser Liposculpture…A new non-surgical option to treat stubborn areas of fat
An Interview with Dr. Lisa Brauer
Q. We all have those stubborn areas of fat that are impossible to lose no matter how much we diet or exercise. Is there a non-surgical safe way to reduce these areas?
A. Yes, there is. At The Cosmetic Vein and Laser Center Dr. Buscaglia and I introduce the most current and effective ways of helping women look more like the way they want to. That is why we are proud to introduce Laser Liposculpture, an exciting new non-surgical way to target stubborn areas of fat.
Q. What is Laser Liposculpture and how does it work?
A. Under local anesthesia, I am able to contour these "bumps and bulges" using the minimally invasive technique of tumescent liposuction and laser liposculpture. Tiny instruments are used – and the incision sites are only 2 millimeter in size. What is most exciting to patients is that they will have minimal discomfort during the procedure – and short downtimes. Most patients even return to work the following day.
Q. What areas of the body can be treated with Laser Liposculpture and who is a candidate?
A. This procedure is optimal for someone who is at a stable weight, close to their ideal weight, with concerns about "love handles", inner knees, inner thighs, outer thighs and upper outer arms. We are also able to target abdomens and under the chin as well.
Q. What does the laser portion of this treatment do?
A. Adding laser to liposculpture helps to liquefy the fat throught light / heat mix, and may therefore increase the degree of skin tightening. Additional skin tightening can be achieved by having Thermage radiofrequency treatment to increase this effect.
Q. What’s involved in the aftercare for Laser Liposculpture?
A. Compression garments are worn for 1-7 days depending on the area treated and patient’s individual healing. Patients return to exercise by 48 hours, and are back to their full daily routine usually in a few days.
